Last night, at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, Jeff Koons unveiled his BMW art car, an M3 GT2 that he has transformed into what one might assume is a psychedelic candy store entered at warp speed. Koons's car, adorned with No. 79, will race in next week's 24 hours of Le Mans and is the latest installment in a 35-year running project of BMW. Previous artists involved in the project have included Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and Robert Rauschenberg, to name precisely three.
