AUDI R8 LimoThe laws of physics dictate the more mass you have to move along a flat plane, the greater the force you need to move it. Which is why traditionally, limousines are seen as machines designed for comfort -- not performance.
But, what if you took a performance car and made it more comfortable? British firm Carbonyte has done exactly that.
Taking the existing Audi R8 chassis, and essentially elongating it with the help of some engineering wizardry, the car moves from a two-seater sportscar to what looks like an eight-seater luxury carriage.
Thankfully, Carbonyte has decided to keep the 5.2-liter V10 engine from the original, along with the superb gull-wing doors for each one of the compartments.
There aren't any figures on performance as of yet.
What the manufacturers do say, however, is that the car will be finished in time for the summer -- so whoever cleans up at this year's Olympics may want to think about chartering one of these for his victory lap.
